Thirteen Ways of Writing Family

It was a pleasure leading a workshop on writing about family with Bilston Writers. Members of the group brought family photos, old or new, to use as a prompt for writing the unseen, unheard, perhaps unspoken stories around the edges of the photograph. We also wrote imaginatively, bringing alive the unrecorded lives and lost stories glimpsed in our family trees. Finally, we took inspiration from Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Blackbird by Wallace Stevens.
