Blogger-in-residence at Rugby Art Gallery and Museum

Why do humans have art galleries and museums? And why don’t squirrels?
What’s on your mantelpiece?
And what’s the oldest thing you keep in your house (apart from my husband, jokes the mayor).
It’s been a joy beginning a blog on behalf of Rugby Art Gallery and Museum, getting to know a place, getting behind the scenes to find out the secret stories and passions of the staff. A museum is like a two-way mirror, writes one of the team,  reflecting a place and its people, so that they understand themselves better and show themselves visibly to the outside world. I’ve learned a lot about the careful and highly creative world of museums, and what they’re doing in Rugby to improve the quality of life in their place, especially for people with dementia and their carers.

The blogging project is run by Museum Development West Midlands, and you can read more about it here.

Here’s one of the early posts, about a bird’s nest
